I’ve got to get in an early post today. We are meeting friends for dinner and I don’t expect I will be wanting to open up the computer when we get home. I need to get right to bed because tomorrow, we have an afternoon of cross country skiing! I’m a little nervous. I haven’t gone in a couple of years, and even then, I wasn’t any good. Hopefully all of my running has me conditioned well enough that I don’t pass out in the snow!
Speaking of conditioning…my legs were back in tip top shape after my 13.5 miles the other day and I was back on the treadmill. It felt good and left me feeling productive. I got myself a couple of weeks ahead in my Dietetics course, so when Chemistry and Microbiology begin next week, I can focus on organizing myself in those 2 courses.
Today has not been too noteworthy…I ran. I studied. So in the absence of any exciting news today, I will show you a new product I recently found at Trader Joe’s. Oh, how I love that store!
These are Sea Salt and Pepper Rice Crisp and boy are they good. Like I have said, I am not a chip person. I really don’t care for potato chips at all. But these new popped chips from Trader Joe’s and these rice crisps, have me reconsidering whether I do in fact like salty snacks!
The pepper in these gives them a nice kick! And they are super crispy. But what I really like is the nutrition information:
Only 120 calories for 38 of these babies! With no saturated or trans fat and a couple grams of protein, I like these chips. Sure, they have a bit of sodium, but it is a chip after all….
I haven’t been in the kitchen much today. But I dod make one thing. Nicole had posted about a home made veggie wash to get all of the chemicals off of our produce. I made a half batch today (1/2 cup vinegar, 1/2 cup water, 1 T baking soda, and 1 T lemon juice). I caught all of the foaming action on camera:
I sure am glad I made this in a big bowl instead of in the spray bottle….the foam rose fast and furiously! But once it settled down, it fit very nicely in a spray bottle…ready to go for cleaning up my next batch of veggies! I’m not sure about storage, so I have this in the fridge. Anybody else know?
Before I go pretty myself up for a night on the town, I have a quick question. I was making a point to respond to everyone’s comments, but then I realized from talking to a couple of people that when I respond to a comment, it just posts in my comment section. The original commenter doesn’t get my response unless she checks back. Is that right? Has anyone gotten my responses when I write a reply to you? I feel bad…some people have asked questions and I thought I was answering, but you probably think I just ignored you! Is there something I need to be doing to make sure that when I reply to a comment that it actually gets to you?
Boy, oh, boy! As soon as I get one blog-related question answered, I have another one!
Have a great night everyone. Hopefully I don’t have any broken bones next time you see me post-skiing!

The person making the comment can subscribe to the thread and get the comment you send back to them straight to their email.
OH MAN those chips sound so ballin! i so wish i had a trader joes near me.. id hit those up! great stats!
Yeah, unless each person subscribes to the thread, there’s a good chance she won’t see your response to the comment.
I usually e-mail people w/ my response if i really want to make sure they get to read it.
I’ll just echo what everyone else said. It’s on their end to subscribe if they want the answer.
I think you’re going to be a chip fan after all. I’m glad you’re finding snacks you can enjoy on your gluten free diet.
Have fun tonight!
38 for only 120 calories!! WOW!! I love those kind of foods… I’m definitely a volume eater. I’ll have to look for those chips!!
I don’t usually reply in my comment section. If I get a question I usually email the answer right back to her or answer it briefly in my next comment on her blog. But, it’s up to you of course!
I made that spray too! I actually put mine under the sink. If Nicole reads this and answers, let me know what she says! I put mine in a bottle, and yes, it overflew everywhere! The bowl was a good idea.
These crisps look good. I love it when the serving sizes are so big! I tried some gluten free, LOW calorie pasta tonight and loved it. I’ll post about it soon. It’s called PastaSlim. E-mail them and they will probably send you samples! It’s pretty good, for low cal and gluten free
Have fun cross-country skiing! That will be fun! I like it when I ask a question, the author responds back directly. I don’t really like subscribing to the single comment feed, so it’s nice to get a direct response. I’m trying to figure that out for my new site
Have a good weekend!!
Those look like great chips – I am also not a salty snack person – I love sweets much more!
Have fun cross-country skiing! I have never been skiing before – regular or cross-country – but I hear its a great workout!
I think a lot of your comments back have just shown up in the comments section, but I haven’t recieved any notice of you commenting on my comments… So if you did, I am assuming I would have to check back to see it.
I love chips.. but I don’t even buy it because there is nothing nutritious about them. The ones that you posted looked good though too bed we don’t have a TJ here.
I have not forgotten about you. I am emailing you tonight.
You just reminded me that I wanted to make some of that spray tomorrow.
TJ’s is such a good place for foodies finds. I am hoping to make it there in the coming weeks.
Yup, that is why I don’t comment back on my own blog. Nobody reads it, lol. I doubt many readers will actually check back, because most of them have many other blogs to read, and they might even probably forget they even asked the question. I rather just comment back on their blogs, or email back.
LOVE TJs. I’m hoping I make a trip up there on Monday!
Thanks for the review! TJ always has so many goodies…I love their Cinnamon Pita Chips!
Slowly becoming a fan of crisps and would LOVE to try that flavor!
