I studied all day yesterday while the smell of soup kept enticing me from the kitchen. I love that! And you know what I love even more??? When it comes out beautifully! I wish I could give you a specific recipe, but it was one of those crock pot soups where you just throw in everyhting you have and need to use up: celery, carrots, onion, mixed frozen veggie, diced tomatoes, vegetable broth, garlic….. I added some quinoa in the last hour and then added chicken to Dave’s bowl. He gave it an enthusiastic thumb’s up!
And what goes best with soup? Yep! Bread! Using more of the Chebe mix I used for my pizza dough, I made rolls to pair with our soup. Even my gluten-eating hubby ate them….instead of his Pillsbury Crescent Rolls!
Thank you again to the folks at Chebe. Gluten-free products can be pricey, and it is really nice to sample a product before investing in it. I have bought many products I will not be buying again and feel like I wasted my money. But I have no reservations about buying Chebe products in the future. Just look at how doughy these rolls were!
Crusty on the outside and doughy on the inside! Exactly the way bread should be!
I have received samples from a couple of other gluten-free companies in recent weeks and I will be sharing my reviews periodically. Just today, I received a shipment from the Shabtai Gourmet Bakery. I saw their products on Eater Not a Runner, and I thought I’d write to them as well to see if I could sample something. They didn’t just send me “something”… they sent me a case!
I tried a couple of treats today and I will show you in another post. But they were wonderful! So good in fact, that I don’t know how smart it is to have so many treats teasing me! Gluten and non-gluten eaters alike will love these treats, so I think I may bave to have a giveaway of a couple unopened boxes at some point. Something else to stay tuned for!
I’m off to snuggle with my boys. Good night all!

It’s been raining today, and I’ve definitely tucked into some soup, too! Yours look really clean and refreshing. I like the quinoa in there, and I think chickpeas will go very well in there too!
Your soup looks good… it was a chilly day here so soup sounds like a perfect option.
Yay for products to review! I know you must be excited.
They look great!
What a great looking soup! Love throwing things in a crockpot and in a few hours later, preto – dinner!
Those rolls look amazing – so doughy and delicious. Glad you were able to get some delicious looking samples.
OMG I am so jealous! first that soup looks AMAZING and then boom you whip out the Rainbow cookies! that is my absolute favorite pastry EVER!!!!! please tell me how they taste!
Rainbow cake is my fave, and although I get the real stuff the gluten free works well duing passover time. Lots of good treats that way. And the soup does look great. Love the idea of the rolls.
Shannon, thanks for your awesome comment on my post. It’s so nice to know that other people have ruts sometimes too!! Love that this community allows people to connect in such an honest way
And that soup looks amazing! I’ve been making more soups lately and I forget how easy/awesome it is!
He passed on the crescent rolls?! WOW! That’s huge.
It’s true, gluten free products can be so expensive. I have so far purchased two products that I THOUGHT I could eat safely, but then looking closer at the ingredients I found I cannot. I’ve been feeding these foods to Nick because they were super expensive (compared to conventional). He’s being a good sport and eating them.
The guy at the gym also made loud noises when he clicked the seat into place, so haha, that was a funny story! Doesn’t it startle you?! I mean especially when you are so into a good book, or a tv show, and your run.
Have a nice day Shannon!
Your dinner looks delicious. Yay for trying new products! I think it says a lot about a company when they’re willing to send you a variety of products to try for free. You know they actually care about their customer base you know?
Happy taste testing!
Yeah, those rolls look delish!! I love doughy rolls.
The rolls and the soup look wonderful! And together, ahhh! Yummm!
Those rolls look awesome!! I know, the amount of samples they sent is crazy!
Oh WOW!! Your rolls must have been pretty good to take the place of Dave’s beloved crescents!!
And what a lucky girl you are to be able to have so many yummy GF samples!! Enjoy them!!
Those rolls look like the ones from Bertuccis. Mmm, now my mouth is watering. Always such great things cooking in your kitchen, Shannon.
And yay for more gluten free samples!
