Queasy stomach, sore boobs, and moodiness aside, there are some definite perks to being pregnant. Right now, as I type this, my dear husband (jetlagged after taking a redeye home from LA this morning and working all day), is cleaning the litter box. What a guy! Let’s forget for a moment that our cats are indoor cats and there is no possible way they could have picked up toxoplasmosis…. I am listening to what the books say and requiring the husband to do the dirty work. I have 7 more months of not having to scoop the poop or change the litter…and I am going to take advantage of it! He’s a good sport. The job is already done and he has crashed on the couch.
I need to go join my sleep deprived hubby since he has been away for a week. But I will share with you first my colorful and nutritious dinner. Salmon, veggies, and acorn squash…
Dave’s plate looked very much the same except he had brown rice instead of squash and a couple of crescent rolls. Speaking of crescent rolls…. I am going to admit a random, but very real fear. I hate the crescent roll tubes. You unroll the paper and sometimes there is a gently pop and the canister open. Other times, you have to push a bit and then all of a sudden there is an explosion! There is so much pressure in some of those canisters! You just don’t know which ones are going to be especially explosive, so as I am unwrapping it, I am holding my breath, hoping it doesn’t erupt.
Tonight, it erupted!
After regaining my composure, I snapped this picture. The dough is split in all the wrong places, and making the rolls involved piecing half of them back together.
Ah, the things you do for love! Anything to give my guy his nightly fix!
I’m off to watch last Thursday’s episode of the Office. I have waited patiently to meet Jim and Pam’s baby. I promised not to watch until Dave got home. I have to hurry or he might be asleep before I get there!

Aw this made me smile because ever since I told my fiance about the litter dangers he has been scooping it for me. I’m not pregnant nor will be for a while but he’s super cautious and said he doesn’t wanna take ANY chances haha. Men can be nice sometimes
Curious to see what you think of the office ep…wasn’t my fav!
awww your going to cry at the office, I know it! hehe
one time when I was little a roll tube exploded in the car. Talk about sh*tting our pants…damn!
Your dinner looks so good and healthy!! Let Dave do all that dirty work for ya! Enjoy it!!
Dave’s crescents crack me up every time!
Haha awww that’s so cute! Yay for not having to clean the litter box
I am impressed you waited so long to watch the Office! It’s a good one!
Hee hee. When our neighbors would come watch the cat, the husband always had to clean the litter since the wife was pregnant. What a perk!
I know, and I feel bad that when I do get pregnant poor Ryan will be stuck with the duty (I guess no pun intended). Gotta love parasites. I actually took parasitology in school and had to learn the whole lifecycle for this one.
Dave is such a great husband!
I have had that fear with crescent rolls as well – the exploding ones can certainly scare the crap out of you!
Love the squash – haven’t had one in a long time…are they still good since they aren’t really in season?
I have the same fear! Hahaha
I love the popping and the explosion of the roll canister! I’ll come over and open yours up every night…if only I lived closer
Hahaha, Melissa and I are on the same page. Love opening the crescent rolls when the package pops. Too funny!
I’m beyond scared of being pregnant. And I know eventually Jared really wants kids. So I’m really excited that you’re sharing your pregnancy journey on your blog. Maybe you’ll ease some of my fears so that when the conversation comes up, I don’t continue to freak out. Haha.
Nick and I do that too, we save shows so we can watch them together. Over the weekend Nick admitted to watching a movie we had discussed, he said he just HAD to watch it because there was nothing else on!! haha We’re excited for Flash Forward to start again!
I can’t wait to get pregnant so Nick can do some more cleaning and I can boss him around, muahaha. It was nice of Dave to clean the litter box, because I do know that’s dangerous for pregnant women, good for Dave! And, good for you for doing your reading
He deserved those lovely crescent rolls!
haha, it’s true, those canisters are a little scary!! horray for not having to clean the litter box
Yay for the perks of pregnancy!
I love seeing those tubes of crescent rolls!! You guys must keep Pillsbury in business!
Ooohhh, litter box duty?! Not so fun! But take full advantage of it while you can, right? At least you make Dave his infamous crescent rolls – he can’t complain. My husband told me that he wasn’t going to be the best diaper changer and that I should probably take charge on that one. Isn’t he funny? As if he’ll have a choice!
[...] a couple days to open the new canister???? I was surprised by how many people enjoy opening these heart-stopping, explosive death traps! By all means, come over and open them for me…you can stay for [...]
